About Alpha

Alpha is the independent governance intelligence and infrastructure company for the agentic enterprise. We provide a common governance layer for boardroom leaders, investors, insurers, and the technology ecosystem, grounded in evidence-backed Governance Records and continuous Evals.

Why Alpha Exists

AI should strengthen institutions, not outpace them.

AI systems now shape underwriting, trading, hiring, planning, operations, and other material business functions. Yet the people accountable for those decisions often cannot see how the systems are governed, where controls are weakening, or what evidence can be trusted.

Alpha exists to close that gap. We make AI governance quality visible, comparable, and actionable so decisions in business and markets can rely on more than assumptions about how AI is being used.

The result is a common signal for the people deploying AI and the institutions evaluating, financing, insuring, and supervising them.

Governance intelligence that updates with the facts.

Alpha continuously turns governance-relevant evidence into a structured view of oversight quality, control reliability, and material risk.

Governance-relevant evidence

Company disclosures and regulatory filings; board and committee actions; director appointments; policies and control frameworks; AI system and data registers; incidents; regulatory developments; and observed outcomes.

Structured against recognized standards

Alpha organizes each signal against recognized AI governance and risk frameworks and regulatory regimes across jurisdictions.

Converted into comparable intelligence

Evals, benchmarks, diagnostics, alerts, and analytics express the strength and reliability of an organization's AI oversight and control environment.

Connected to material risk

Alpha shows how AI governance quality interacts with financial, cyber, operational, regulatory, and reputational risk.

Evidence changes. Alpha's view changes with it.

Alpha assessments update as evidence changes, rather than waiting for an annual review.

Three units with distinct responsibilities.

Research establishes the standard, evals produce comparable judgment, and intelligence puts that signal into the workflows where governance decisions are made.

Alpha Institute

The research, standards, and education arm of the firm. The Institute develops practical governance standards, runs education programs, publishes Alpha BoardBrief, and convenes the Alpha Council for directors, executives, and institutional stakeholders.

Where Alpha Fits

A decision layer above internal governance systems.

Inside organizations, existing tools manage policies, controls, compliance, and workflow. Alpha sits above that infrastructure. It combines the evidence those systems generate with public and regulatory information, then translates it into a single independent view of AI governance quality.

That view can travel directly into board materials, risk and audit packs, underwriting workflows, investment analysis, enterprise systems, and automated decision workflows. Human decision-makers and the systems acting on their behalf can work from the same governance signal.

A shared evidence base for different decisions.

Boards and executives

See how AI is governed across material business processes, where oversight is weakening, and what must change as deployment expands.

Investors and asset owners

Bring governance quality into capital allocation, fundamental analysis, engagement, voting, and stewardship.

Insurers

Differentiate AI-related governance risk across portfolios and inform underwriting, pricing, coverage, and loss-prevention decisions.

Policymakers and public institutions

Compare how AI governance operates across markets and identify where weak oversight may be creating systemic risk.

The commitments behind every Alpha output.

Independent by design

Alpha does not advise on, build, or operate the systems it rates. Independence is the basis of a signal institutions can trust.

Evidence before narrative

Conclusions are tied to observable facts, source documents, incidents, and operating evidence, not marketing claims.

Continuous by default

Governance intelligence updates when the facts change, not only when the annual review arrives.

Decision-useful

Every output supports a defined decision in oversight, capital allocation, underwriting, stewardship, or supervision.

Methodology

A common standard for comparable signals.

The Alpha AI Governance Standard is the analytical foundation for Alpha evals, materiality views, diagnostics, and research. It defines what is assessed, how evidence is evaluated, and how opinions are governed.

Alpha assesses the governance environment around enterprise AI. It does not certify individual models. The public framework is available on alpha.ac; controlled scoring mechanics and company-specific evidence are available only through appropriate evals or methodology-access processes.
